    Half marathon, check: Jan van Berkel is in his third lap - but the lead is less than a minute. Seven-time champion Ronnie Schildknecht is 56 seconds behind.
    Alessandro Degasperi started into this marathon like he did at IRONMAN Lanzarote where he ran into first place. He is in fourth about 45 seconds behind Michael Raelert after 18 km
    Beth Gerdes made the pass and is in second place after 7 km. She is 15:17 behind Mary Beth Ellis, Mareen Hufe is at 15:38

    Mary Beth Ellis is on the second half of the marathon. She looks comfortable, concentrated and ready to bring it home. Her half marathon split was 1:35:50, her lead is about 12 minutes over Beth Gerdes, Mareen Hufe +16:30
    Ronnie Schildknecht is on the final 5 kilometers - and on the way to an extraordinary triumph. He was the first and only one to win seven IRONMAN races in a row - now he might be the first and only athlete to take eight victories. What a day!
    Alessandro Degasperi is frequent flyer on the marathon - he ran it down in May at the IRONMAN Lanzarot. Now he is in third at the IRONMAN Switzerland
