    Wow! Rode the #Ironman 70.3 St Croix bike course today - first time in many years. While I've been away the Beast got steeper.

  • Say, why are all of those people...? (Because it was pouring during the race meeting, that's why.)

  • 3:00 Friday: This could be one for the ages. Looks like someone is pouring half the Atlantic straight down onto Christiansted (and I see pairs of animals being herded onto a large boat by a bearded man). Forecast for race day is worse.

    The first "America's Paradise Triathlon" was held on the magnificently beautiful island of St. Croix in 1988. The largest prize purse in triathlon (the winner would take home over $45,000) brought the likes of the "Big Four" (Allen, Molina, Scott & Tinley), young superstars Mike Pigg & Jurgen Zack, Paula Newby-Fraser, the Puntous twins, Julie Moss ... and a young 16 year-old from Texas, Lance Armstrong.
