It's just past 8.30am here in CamSur and the heavy cloud cover that has kept the tropical temperatures cool this morning has now been joined by some quite heavy rain, making for some tough conditions out there on the bike.
  • Aiming to go for back-to-back Cobra Energy Drink Ironman 70.3 Philippines titles, Australia's Pete Jacobs was first off the bike here this morning, after a strong start out of the swim.

American Jesse Thomas finished the bike portion of the race in second behind Jacobs. In third is Erich Felbabel followed closely by Cameron Brown. For the women, Amanda Stevens is leading into the run with Belinda Granger in pursuit.

The rain has eased in the last hour, but continues to fall.
