IRONMAN Taiwan

The men’s winner is expected to reach the finish line in less than 15 minutes. Who will it be, Domenico Passuello or Fredrik Croneborg?
It's coming down to the wire!

Who will break the tape first?

Italy's Domenico Passuello has held on to win IRONMAN Taiwan in 8:25:55, winning by 2:43 from the fast finishing Fredrik Croneborg from Sweden. Both have enjoyed success in Asia with Passuello winning IRONMAN 70.3 Putrajaya in Malaysia recently and Croneborg won IRONMAN 70.3 Taiwan in 2013.
Passuello, the former professional cyclist for Quick Step, showed he has some future in IRONMAN with a 52min swim, followed by the race winning 4:32 ride on a tough course in super-hot conditions, and a solid 2:55 marathon.
Croneborg earned plenty of plaudits with a remarkable 2:49 marathon run, coming from nine minutes back off the bike for second place. American Patrick Evoe clocked 2:57 run to claim the final spot on the podium ahead of last year's IRONMAN 70.3 Taiwan winner and top seed, Cameron Brown.

Congratulations to Domenico Passuello, 2015 Ironman Taiwan champion!

Congratulations on a battle hard won and a victory well earned.

The countdown begins for the ladies winner. We're expecting her to break the tape soon.
The victory was Domenico’s first at a full Ironman race. The former pro cyclist credited “crazy legs” on the bike for powering him to the front to stay from 40K into the bike portion of the race.

Dede Griesbauer (USA) is our 2015 Ironman Taiwan women’s champion!

Shiao-Yu Li is not only 4th lady to finish today, she was the first Taiwanese overall!

The bike course is now closing at South Bay. Conditions were nice enough that hopefully nobody willing and able to continue will not be able to hit the marathon.

Just over an hour remaining, around 600 in, and athletes are coming in through the spectacular finish in rapid succession. The magical finish chute really has to be seen in person - it's simply electric.

Hsueh Pi-jen of host country Taiwan is the final finisher at Ironman Taiwan.

    What a day!
