  • #IMArizona Clemente Alonso-Mckernan has opened up a 2-length gap on a group of six. In the chase group are Tim O'Donnell and Brent McMahon.

  • #IMArizona Meredith Kessler appears to be leading the women's race with a 20 m lead on Amanda Stevens.
  • Meredith Kessler is just making the turn at the end of the swim course - the men are already well on their way back to the swim finish - still McMahon and Alonso-McKernan out in front of a group of 5.
  • In the msn's race the third group is about 150 m behind. There's about 10 guys in that third chase group.
  • Meredith Kessler leads the women's race through halfway through the swim.

  • The two leaders took a line way to the right compared to the rest of the chasers - seems like that was the right line today.

  • Heather Jackson is competing in her first Ironman race as a pro - she's one of the women we're going to keep a close eye on today. She's specialized in 70.3 racing over the last few years - it will be interesting to see how she makes out today over the full distance.
