  • Oops - we missed Filip Ospaly earlier. He's currently running in second place alongside Michael Raelert.
    Here are the men's splits through 2 miles:
    Joe GAMBLES (#5) is in the lead, followed by:
    * Filip Ospaly at 43 seconds
    * Michael RAELERT (#1) at 43 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 1:21
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 1:24
  • Swallow is off the bike. She's looking a little tentative as she runs through T2, but she enjoys a lead of about 1:30 on defending women's champion Julie Dibens.
  • Through 3 mile Joe GAMBLES (#5) is the current leader.

    Behind him are:
    * Filip Ospaly (#37) at 20 seconds
    * Michael RAELERT (#1) at 33 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 46 seconds
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 1 minute
  • Raelert has caught Ospaly, and is about to pass Joe Gambles.
  • Raelert takes the lead! He's gone by Joe Gambles, but has Filip Ospaly right on his heels. All week long we've been hearing that Ospaly is one of the men to watch for - turns out that was right!
  • Raelert is trying to break Ospaly. He's opened up a bit of a gap and appears to be trying to break away as he heads up the climb up the causeway.
  • The men through the first turn: 1 2:49:59 5 Joe Gambles Boulder CO AUS
    2 2:50:11 0:12 37 Filip Ospaly Lelekovice CZE
    3 2:50:14 0:16 1 Michael Raelert

    9 2:51:55 1:57 22 Reinaldo Colucci Descalvado BRA
    10 2:52:21 2:23 31 David Kahn Port Jefferson NY USA
  • Tisseyre is flying! She was sixth off the bike, but right now she appears to be the fastest moving woman on the run.
  • Swallow has opened up a gap of 1:39 on Julie Dibens through the first mile of the run.
  • Ospaly and Raelert are running together across the causeway now. Raelert appears to be the one dictating the pace, but Ospaly is hanging tough. Ospaly is a fierce sprinter - during his ITU days he's outsprinted some of the best in the sport.
  • It sounds like Magali Tisseyre has moved into third place through the first mile. Our leader, Jodie Swallow, has gone through 2 miles.
  • Michael Raelert and * Filip Ospaly (#37) are leading the way through 5 miles. They're followed by:
    * Joe GAMBLES (#5) at 24 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 37 seconds
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 1:15
  • Swallow has opened up more time on Julie Dibens through 2 miles - the lead is up to 2 minutes. Dibens, of course, is coming off a third place in Kona and a runner-up finish at the XTERRA World Championship, so you have to imagine her legs are just a little tired.
  • Coming to the turnaround - it's still Raelert and Ospaly running neck and neck. Raelert is trying to break the man from the Czech Republic, but hasn't succeeded as of yet.
  • Great to see Raelert and Ospaly run in sync! Now if only @shermingham can catch up with these guys. #IMClearwater
  • Leading the men through 6 miles is Michael Raelert (#1) and * Filip Ospaly (#37) They're followed by:
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 32 seconds
    * Joe GAMBLES (#5) at 44 seconds
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 1:25
  • The women through 2 miles: In the lead is Jodie Swallow (#81), followed by:
    * Julie Dibens (#51) at 2 minutes
    * Leanda CAVE (#84) at 5:24
    * Amanda Stevens (#57) at 5:50
    * Pip Taylor (#63) at 6:24 Magali Tisseyre hasn't, in fact, moved into third, but we expect to see her in the top 5 soon.
  • Raelert is pulling away! He's finally been able to break Filip Ospaly and has opened up a gap of about 25 meters. Tim O'Donnell is running about 50 seconds behind in third. Then we have Gambles at 1:15 and Cunningham at 1:50.
  • The women through 3 miles: Swallow continues to lead the way - her lead is now up to 2:45 on Dibens. Swallow appears to be pulling away from all of the other women in the field here.
  • Raelert takes the Timex Run Prime. He's about to cross the mat that will get him $2,500. He looks great as he runs up the bridge - he shortened his stride and kept his tempo as he continues to pull away from Ospaly.
  • Michael RAELERT (#1) is the current leader through 8 miles.

    Behind him are:
    * Filip Ospaly (#37) at 14 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 1:04
    * Joe GAMBLES (#5) at 1:39
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 2:24
  • The women through 3 miles: Jodie Swallow (#81) is the current leader.

    Behind her are:
    * Julie Dibens (#51) at 2 minutes
    * Leanda CAVE (#84) at 5:29
    * Amanda Stevens (#57) at 5:54
    * Magali Tisseyre (#53) at 6:53
  • tracking @markemerg (#1223) on #ironmanlive! great swim, and flying on the bike so far woohoo!! #imclearwater
  • Raelert continues to pull away from the rest of the rest of the men in the field.
  • Go @TOinTri! You're in podium position, keep pushing for the win. #imclearwater
  • Swallow has opened up another minute on Julie Dibens through 5 miles of the run.
  • @jodieswallow is killing this. Awesome performance #imclearwater

    6 3:14:15 8:18 77 Lesley Paterson San Diego CA GBR
  • Michael Raelert is on his way back to town, but Ospaly still has him in his sights - the gap appears to be about 75 meters.
  • Leanda Cave continues to run in third - she's 5:40 behind Swallow through 5 miles.
  • Michael RAELERT (#1) continues to lead the way through 9 miles. Behind him:
    * Filip Ospaly (#37) at 24 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 1:44
    * Joe GAMBLES (#5) at 2:24
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 3 minutes
  • Following #imclearwater this am. Very exciting. Phenomenal athletes all around!
  • Through 10 miles O'Donnell and Gambles have gained a bit of time, but they remain well behind Raelert. RAELERT (#1) is in the lead, followed by:
    * Filip Ospaly (#37) at 35 seconds
    * Timothy ODONNELL (#10) at 1:40
    * Joe GAMBLES (#5) at 2:18
    * Richie Cunningham (#13) at 3:04
  • Dibens is now 3:50 behind Swallow, but she remains in second. Cave is gaining time on Dibens and is now 4:30 out of the lead. Stevens is in fourth, 4:50 behind Swallow.
  • Magali Tisseyre continues to gain time - she's now in fifth place at 5:30. It looks like she's going to run her way past the three women ahead of her - the only question is whether or not Swallow will falter at all.
  • Michael Raelert has had a few long looks behind over the last mile or so. It doesn't look like he's in trouble at all - he's just making sure he's got this race in control.
  • Prob too late for anyone to catch Raelert at this point #IMClearwater
