  • We have Amey and Llanos are now running together.
  • Corbin has now taken second from Kessler about 13 miles into the run.
  • Llanos is showing the way in the men's race at 18 miles with Amey just behind him. Poulat is hanging tough 1:48 back of the leaders with O'Donnell slipping way off the back, and is now 9:36 in arrears.

  • Llanos has put a surge in, and Amey hasn't responded to the move with 2 miles to go.
  • Llanos is in the closing miles of this race and continues pull away from Amey who had succumbed to Llanos pace as the pair went through a aid station.
  • Cave leads the women's race in the closing miles of the race. At mile 18, the running order is:

  • Amey is starting to work his way towards Llanos in the late stages of this race and is now only 5 seconds behind the leader. What a race.
  • Amey is continuing to try to close the gap on Llanos, but it looks like his surge towards the front has stalled out for Amey.
  • Amey's last ditch attempt to pull Llanos back to him has failed. It appeared surge was going to initially work, but now the Amey's gap has slipped to 45 seconds back to the leader.
  • Question now, can Llanos break 8 hours?
  • Eneko Llanos is our 2011 Ford Ironman Arizona champion, and becomes the second man to break the eight-hour barrier in an Ironman in North America.
  • Llanos finish time today was 7:59:38.
  • Paul Amey had an outstanding race today has come second with a 8:01:29 finish time.
  • At mile 17, Cave is extending her lead and now has 4:36 leading margin over Corbin at mile 18 and 6:51 advantage over Kessler.
  • At mile 20, Cave is looking solid out there and now holds 5:00 advantage over Corbin.
  • Viktor Zyemtsev from the Ukraine has ran his way into a third place finish on the strength of his 2:45:55 marathon, for a finish time of 8:14:36.
  • At mile 23, Cave holds a 6:59 advantage over Corbin and Kessler is holding onto third, 9:12 in arrears to the leader.
